March 9: CONVERTING APPLEWORKS FILES and the NEW APPLE iPAD
This month’s meeting will begin with Don Benne who will briefly discuss Apple’s newest device - the iPad.
Also, since AppleWorks is a non-supported program, it is time to convert what you have and move on to newer applications. Ron Mueller will demonstrate how (or even if it’s possible) to convert AppleWorks files to current, supported applications. This will include the word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database files in AppleWorks format using apps such as Word, Pages, Numbers, etc. We will begin selling tickets for our June iPad raffle.

So come join us for what should be an informative evening!
The meeting begins with our regular Q&A and Tips&Tricks Session.

April 13: ALTERNATIVE OFFICE APPLICATIONS
iWork, Google docs, and open source apps such as Open Office and Neo Office. Discussion to include Address Book and free or inexpensive drawing or graphics apps that will convert MacDraw and Appleworks graphics. Possible attendance prize: Mac Boxed Set (i.e. OS X 10.6 and iWork 09).

Past Meetings

January 12: AUTOMATOR
Co-President Don Benne will describe how Automator is a workflow engine and not an AppleScript replacement and how it can help you build workflows to automate your day to day Mac life. Don will show how these workflows can be embedded as plugins to help you create services, PDF printing plugins, iCal events, and folder actions. Don will also cover the facilities for users to extend automator on their own as well as places to find third party Automator actions.
